Curbside Pickup Services:
Effective November 23, 2020 the Virginia Public Library will change the service to get materials to you in the safest way possible. Please follow the steps below:
Call the library at 218-748-7525 during the following days and times:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am – 5:00pm
Staff will ask you questions about the materials you would like to check out. Specific titles or authors you would like will help our staff find your next reading, listening or viewing selection! You can check out books, magazines, audiobooks, music CDs and DVD’s through the library curbside service. Pick up is limited to fifteen (15) items.
You will be asked to set a time and day to visit the library and pick up your materials.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-4:30pm
Tuesday 10:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-5:30pm
Visit the library on your designated day and time, with your face mask ready to wear.
Enter the library through the elevator entrance. Wear your mask at all times while inside the building. The elevator entrance will be open only during curbside hours, so please visit during the times listed above.
In the elevator, press the LL button (marked as Pick ups) to travel to the library’s lower level.
When you reach the lower level, turn right and approach the media department. Once you enter through the media department door, please approach the table. A staff person will come to the table, ready to give you your pickup items. Please wait six feet from the table (see the tape X’s on the ground for where to stand) and tell the staff person your name so they can give you the correct materials. You do not need to bring your library card.
Once you have received your pickup items, please exit the library. You can exit using the elevator, pressing the G button (marked as Exit), or by using the stairs near the main entrance. Please stay a respectful 6 feet from any other library patrons if you encounter them, and keep your mask on to protect yourself and others.
If you have any books to return, place books in the Book Drop Box and DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks in the Media Drop Box. Please do not give them to staff or leave them on the table.
To participate in this service, we ask that you complete the COVID-19 Screening Checklist. If you have any questions, please contact the Virginia Public Library at 218-748-7525
