That’s right! The Friends of the Virginia Public Library Booksale is back! Here’s what you need to know about this event:

When is the Spring Booksale?

April 25 – April 27; from when the library opens until an hour before the library closes. Friends of the Library members get early access to the sale on April 24 from 3-5pm – so if you want to get to the sale before everyone else, consider becoming a Friends member!

What can I get at the Spring Booksale?

There will be many books at the booksale, including fiction, mystery, science fiction and fantasy, nonfiction books and children’s and teen books. But there are also lots of other media items including DVDs, CDs, and Audiobooks!

Is there a bag sale?

Due to popular demand, the Friends of the Library will be offering $15 book bags which you can fill with books for the single bag price! You also get to keep the library bags, along with whatever books you fill the bag with! You do not have to bring a bag with you – the bags are available to purchase at the door.

Can I donate items for the Booksale?

Yes! If you have books or media items that are in good condition (no rips, tears, stains, or mold!) you can bring your items in to the library between April 1st and April 15th!

How can I help with the Booksale?

All proceeds from the booksale go directly toward events and programs at the library – so buying at the booksale is a great way to support your library!

If you want to help even more, consider joining the Friends of the Library! Not only do you get into the sale early, but you also get first notice on great events happening at the library. Interested? Talk to a Friends member, or your librarian today!

If you are already a Friends of the Library member we could use your help for the booksale! Please call the library if you want to help out, and we will let you know what help is still needed. Thank you for your help and support!
