September is nearly here and we are coming off of a very successful series of summer programs.  While the Summer Reading Program and our Solar [non-]Eclipse Party will be difficult to compete with, we have a couple of programs this month that are sure to give them a run for their money!

Writers in Conversation, featuring William Kent Krueger and Danielle Sosin, will be appearing courtesy of Minnesota Book Awards and the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library.  In the company of Sosin and Krueger, we will learn more about the writing process.  They will read from their work, discuss their influences, and learn about the importance of place.  Writers in Conversation is at noon on Thursday, September 7th.

Our second adult program in September is Leaves of Grass ILLUMINATED, featuring Patrick Scully, as Walt Whitman.  This is an adult-themed program which looks at the life of Walt Whitman, covering his life story, the puritan morals of the day, and the controversial life of this great American poet.  This program is provide to us through the Arrowhead Library System, with funding from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.  Leaves of Grass is at noon on Thursday, September 21st.
